Psychic travel and transport
A psychic is a person possessing powers rooted in parapsychology, such as extrasensory perception (ESP), to identify information hidden from the normal senses, particularly involving telepathy or clairvoyance; or who performs acts that are apparently inexplicable by natural laws, such as psychokinesis or teleportation. Psychics do exist, but they are exceedingly rare.
Psychic abilities can be used only with a pure heart and pure intentions. Psychics can also use various devices, called psychic devices, to accomplish tasks. Psychics use clairvoyance and other superpowers to locate, identify, and rescue missing persons. On May 6, 2013, Amanda Berry, Michelle Knight, and Gina DeJesus were rescued from a home in Cleveland, Ohio where they had been in captivity for ten years. You never know: there could be other missing persons who have been abducted and are being held captive in a "house of horrors" somewhere. Psychics are very useful in rescuing these people.
Time travel
[editar]In the spacetime model, we live in a four-dimensional world, with the four dimensions being length, width, height, and time. Where are you right now? Right now, as I am typing this page, I am in my bedroom at my home, in front of a keyboard and a computer screen. The spacetime combination of my current time and place is: Home Bedroom, December 8, 2024, 11:00 UTC. Once a point of origin is chosen, "Home Bedroom" requires three coordinates (length, width, and height), and "time" refers to the present point in time.
Time travel is a very fascinating topic in science fiction, and the exact rules for time travel vary between different works of literature. Time travel is a common trope in video games as well, and two very popular "time travel" games I played in 2008 as a 12-year-old child are Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time (release date: 11/28/2005) and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness (release date: 4/20/2008), the latter of which later received an "enhanced version" in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, released a year and a half later (release date: 10/12/2009).
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky
[editar]Note: Most or all of this information is also true for its base games, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness.
- In Chapter 13 of the main story, a Dimensional Hole opens up inside Treasure Town. Magnezone warns everyone in the town meeting to keep a safe distance from the hole, as the hole is potentially very dangerous. Dusknoir says farewell to everyone, but he yanks the player and partner into the hole, which takes them to the future, which ends Chapter 13 and begins Chapter 14. In this game, the "future" world is a world of complete darkness. The planet is fully paralyzed, and in a paralyzed world, no winds blow, the sun never appears, and it is a world of perpetual darkness. Both Chapters 14 and 15 are spent in the "future" world of darkness. In Chapter 14, you must get through Chasm Cave, Dark Hill, and Sealed Ruin. In Chapter 15, you go to Dusk Forest and Deep Dusk Forest. At the end of Deep Dusk Forest is a time portal that leads you, your partner, and Grovyle back to your world, the "present" world. Dusknoir nearly thwarts this, but with the help of Celebi, the three manage to make a narrow escape into the Passage of Time and return home. This ends Chapter 15 and begins Chapter 16, which is, very fittingly, titled, "A New Dawn."
- Due to the fact that Chasm Cave, Dark Hill, Sealed Ruin, Dusk Forest, and Deep Dusk Forest are in the "future," none of the Pokémon you battle in those five dungeons can be recruited to your exploration team. These dungeons also cannot be revisited, unless you are doing "Friend Rescue." However, any items, money, and experience points that you collect in Chapter 14 or Chapter 15 will still be with you when you return to the "present" in Chapter 16.
Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time
[editar]- The very early part of the game demonstrates an important fact about time travel: Living beings from the past, even if they died sometime along the way, can safely travel to the present. If you need some renewed hope that, should time machines ever be invented someday, Ben Franklin can safety time-travel 264 years into the future from 1760 -> 2024 and still be alive in 2024, look no further than the Junior Shrooboid incident near the start of the game.
- In this game, the Shroobs invaded the Mushroom Kingdom in the past, maybe 20 or 30 years into the past. In the present Mushroom Kingdom, there are no Shroobs (aside from Princess Shroob's brief visit, after Gritzy Desert and before Thwomp Volcano). At some point, the Shroobs were wiped out, exterminated, by rain with the same chemical composition as human baby tears. Despite the Shroobs being wiped out in the past, Junior Shrooboid was able to safely come to the present-day Peach's Castle.
- Mario's victory against Junior Shrooboid marks the first level-up of any legitimate playthrough of the game. Upon winning this battle, Mario gains 6 experience points, which is enough for Mario to reach Level 2. Much later in the game, you rescue "Princess Peach" in the Gritzy Caves and return home to the present-day Peach's Castle with her. "Princess Peach" is in quotation marks in the previous sentence because, as you find out later, this was not really Princess Peach. It was Princess Shroob disguised as Princess Peach, to trick the Mario bros. into allowing her to come to the present-day Mushroom Kingdom. Although Princess Shroob doesn't say or do much during her visit to the present-day Peach's Castle, she is demonstrably alive during that visit. When the toads ask, "Are you well, my dear?", Princess Shroob nods her head. Baby Peach, who realized that something wasn't right, began crying loudly.
Time Travel Rules
[editar]- "Together" means being in the same location at the same time. If two people are in the same location, but they went at different times, they do not make contact, even if they were on the exact same spot.
- Another psychic device is the "Time Restore," which allows the user to return to the present, on the spot.
Magic pencil
[editar]A magic pencil is a pencil that, when used by psychics, allows the transfer of objects and living beings between this world and a fantasy world. Other long, straight objects, such as chopsticks, can also be used. However, its use requires the user to have a pure heart and pure intentions. The magic pencil has a sensor that allows it to tell who is using it, preventing people with evil intentions, such as criminals, from using it.
With the help of the magic pencil and your third eye, you can now bring Pokémon to life in our world! However, the magic pencil also has a countermeasure in place to prevent the transport of dangerous characters. For instance, Lord Cinderbottom from the Peggle series is not allowed, due to being a dragon that breathes fireballs; however, Bjorn is fair game, since his special power, "Super Guide," will not cause damage if he is brought to this world. Bjorn could potentially be very useful during a sports game as he can sense which direction the ball will bounce. Here are some examples of allowed and disallowed Pokémon.

How to use the magic pencil
[editar]- For a movie or a TV episode: Stand in front of the TV, and wave your magic pencil at the TV. Wave the pencil over the character or object you would like to transfer to the real world. If you would like to enter the fictional world that the episode or movie takes place in, you instead wave the pencil at yourself, then stare at the screen with all three eyes, your two normal eyes, plus your third eye.
- For a video game: Turn on your gaming console, and load the game. Then, wave your magic pencil at the screen. You can transfer characters (Pokémon such as Sylveon, or if you prefer, Pokémon characters such as Tierno, Dawn, and Cynthia) into this world as well! Same rules apply: if you want to enter the Pokémon world, wave the pencil at yourself instead, then stare into the screen with all three of your eyes.
